Ultimate Medical Academy UMA Hosts Open House Featuring Associate Degree in Nursing ADN Program. - Education Letter

Ultimate Medical Academy (UMA) recently hosted a nursing open house and information session for its Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) program. The January 27 event, held on UMA's campus in Tampa, was open to the public and designed to be an educational and fun gathering for anyone interested in a nursing career. Highlights of the open house included a presentation by Peggy Soper, UMA's Director of Nursing, as well as refreshments, giveaways and a live remote with radio personality Gordie of 'The Freakshow' on 94.1 FM.

Soper shared details on UMA's nursing courses and available resources - including Learner Services and Career Services - and provided advice on how to succeed in the nursing degree program. She also provided an overview of the nursing career outlook, which suggests good employment potential for graduates with a Florida nursing degree and state licensure. According to forecasts from the Florida Center for Nursing (FCN), more than 50,000 new Registered Nurses (RNs) will be needed statewide between now and 2025 to meet employer demand.*

'I would encourage anyone interested in pursuing a nursing degree in Florida to consider the ADN program offered by UMA,' said Soper. 'Our curriculum is designed to help students acquire the knowledge, nursing values and clinical skills required for a professional nursing career. The program also provides hands-on experience through a series of clinical rotations, which allow students to apply what they learn in a real-world setting.'

UMA is accredited by the Accredited Bureau of Health Education Schools, and its nursing program is approved by the Florida Board of Nursing. The ADN program is offered on UMA's Tampa campus and can be completed in less than two years. In addition, UMA helps prepare students to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN).

'By providing a quality education and helping students prepare for the NCLEX-RN, UMA's associate degree program paves the way for entry-level nursing employment,' explained Soper. 'Better yet, prospective students can get started immediately. While many schools have a waiting list for enrollment, there is currently no waiting list for UMA's nursing program. Students can enroll now and begin classes as soon as our next session, which starts on February 27.'

UMA regularly hosts open houses, informational sessions and other community outreach events for area residents interested in learning more about its campus-based and online healthcare training and degree programs. Those who wish to stay informed on future events can follow UMA on Twitter or 'Like' UMA on Facebook.
